Near the picturesque castle of Palmela, the Montado Golf Club is located in the heart of the Setubal wine country. The golf course winds through an old cork grove. Small streams and natural lakes add to the beauty of this unique property. In 2005 deep reconstruction of the tees, fairways and greens was started with a new lay-out executed by designer Jorge Santana da Silva that is ready to open in May. A new par 3 with an island green and new lake was also built. In 2007 an aparthotel will be concluded. A new urban area and a hotel are being developed as well. In addition there are improvements to the clubhouse under way. The golf academy under the supervision of Tony Bennet will start with the inauguration of the new facilities.
